Ten years after the “Dark Days” of rebellion in Panem, the Capitol is regaining its power and oppressing the Districts more than ever. Part of that oppression is the Hunger Games, a vicious televised fight to the death between 24 children gathered from the Districts. In the 10th Annual Games, the Capitol has implemented a major change: students from the Capitol’s most elite secondary school will each mentor a competitor and try to guide them to victory; in exchange they will get a lucrative scholarship and personal glory if their tribute is triumphant. You must cultivate a relationship with your tribute, balance the high-tension politics of the Capitol, and avoid being sabotaged by your fellow mentors. The Capitol wants you to fight dirty to gain any kind of edge against your opponents. However, who you decide to be your opponent is up to you.
