Crisis

Russians Without Borders: The Russian Civil War 1918

The year is 1918, and Russia has just exited the First World War after several years of bloody conflict. However, while the War continues to wind down in the West, Russia faces a new challenge: a fight for the very soul of the nation. The Soviet Reds have taken control of most of Western Russia, and have begun their push to reconstitute all territories of the former Russian Empire into what will become known as the Soviet Union. In opposition to Soviet expansion is the White movement, a broad and loose coalition of Russian liberals, social democrats, far-right reactionaries, monarchists, and independent warlords, among others, whose goals are diverse and often conflicting, but are united by one desire: to end the Soviet experiment before it can get off the ground. As delegates, you will represent this coalition, as well as some of the dozens of national independence movements that have sprouted up at the same time, during a conflict that will shape the future of Eurasia for centuries to come. Will you work together to turn back the rising tide of Soviet Communism, or will they mop up your fractured resistance efforts one by one? Only time will tell.
