Welcome Delegates and Advisors,

Emilio L. Aleman

On behalf of the Tufts Model United Nations team and the entire TUMUN Secretariat, it is my honor to invite you all to the 9th iteration of the Tufts University Model United Nations Conference which will be held in person from March 7-9, 2025.

Since its inception, TUMUN has worked to provide an immersive educational experience to students that not only helps them develop their writing, problem-solving, and debate skills but also provides the opportunity to meet like-minded delegates from across the country. Our greatest hope for this conference is for it to be well-organized, meaningful, and fun for all our participants.

Each year we strive to create a conference that will fit the wants and needs of all delegates. Whether you prefer a fast-paced stimulating crisis committee or an opportunity to discuss worldwide challenges in the Security Council, we provide a variety of themes across the committees to challenge delegates to expand and challenge their minds.

Now more than ever countless voices are being suppressed or  ignored, but spaces like the one we hope to create through this conference give delegates the opportunity to speak their mind. My greatest hope for this conference is that each and every one of you will seize the chance to debate, listen, and grow. Write the inventive directive, try the crazy crisis arc, and work with the unlikely ally. Whatever you do, discuss the important issues and have fun doing it!

I cannot wait to welcome you all to TUMUN IX in March and hope you enjoy the conference!

Best,

TUMUN IX SECRETARY-GENERAL
